PAST + PRESENT

Nestled in the Balearic archipelago, the Island of Ibiza has been a magnet for music enthusiasts and partygoers for decades.
In the late '90s and early 2000s, IBIZA RECORDS played a pivotal role in shaping the island's dance music scene.
It released club music tracks, Ibiza Club Music compilations, and a series of Chillout compilations. These albums captured the musical essence of the island. Meanwhile, the Ibiza Club convention Anthem titled "Ibiza (How Are You)" by JKB, was released as a 12" Maxi-Single on vinyl and on CD and gained success in Dance Charts around the world.

In 2022, after a long break, its original founder Jan IBZ (a.k.a. Jan Ben) together with his son Calvin Bën breathed new life into IBIZA RECORDS, bringing it back to its roots on Ibiza and its new co-base on the Canary Islands, and expanding its reach throughout the World.

IBIZA CLUB CONVENTION

In 1998, Ibiza Records' founder Jan invented the "Ibiza Club Convention" which home-base was located at Club Punta Arabi (alongside the famous Hippy Market). The yearly event showcased the best of Ibiza's music scene and brought together DJs, producers, labels and music industry professionals from around the globe. 

Under Jan's guidance, the "Ibiza Club Convention" gained strong momentum and became a platform for music collaboration. Parties were organized at iconic Ibiza clubs such as Pacha and Space, with renowned international DJs headlining the events. The convention's growing influence resulted in the release of compilation CDs in partnership with European labels, allowing the island's music to resonate worldwide.

In 2001, the "Ibiza Club Convention" reached its pinnacle with the fourth edition. Co-hosted by the Islands clubs Pacha, Space and Café del Mar, the convention nights became unforgettable spectacles. Headliners such as ATB, Sash!, DJ Quicksilver and Pacha-resident DJ Pippi enthralled audiences, and German music TV station VIVA broadcasted from the event, amplifying Ibiza's global presence. The convention collaborated with the externally organized "DJ Awards" hosted at Pacha Ibiza, further cementing its significance in the industry.

In 2022, IBIZA RECORDS finally rose from the ashes. The trademarks for the brand were re-registered, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the label's history. With a renewed focus on DJ acts, club events and music production, IBIZA RECORDS is reclaiming its position as a purveyor of cutting-edge club music trends.

The co-founders, Jan IBZ + Calvin Bën, are now integral members of the official BIZA RECORDS DJ TEAM, broadcasting live DJ sets on social media. Between TikTok, Instagram and Youtube they are going "viral" all the time - and already amasses more than 1 MILLON enthusiastic followers.

IBIZA RECORDS also offers DJ TEAM SETS and LABEL PARTIES which can be booked and co-hosted by clubs and agencies, ensuring that the essence of the label and the Island's music culture is shared with audiences worldwide. As IBIZA RECORDS forges ahead, it will undoubtedly continue to leave an indelible mark on the global electronic music scene perpetuating the legacy of the island's magnetic rhythms and timeless beats.

Looking to the future, Ibiza Records has ambitious plans for its in-house DJ ACADEMY set to launch in early 2024. This academy will provide aspiring DJs with comprehensive education and training, nurturing the next generation of talent and preserving Ibiza's rich musical heritage.
